U.S.C.F. Information
Effective September 14, 2007, the redesign of the U.S.C.F. website has gone live, and some pages are incorporated into the new website, while other pages still exist only on the old website. Some information is currently not available at all. The U.S.C.F. has explained it, here. I'll be tracking the changes over there and making the appropriate updates here at our website. In the meantime, please pardon the chaos. -Stef

U.S.C.F. Brochures and Forms
The United States Chess Federation
(U.S.C.F.) is the governing organization for chess in America.
It is a not-for-profit corporation, and the R.C.C.C. is an affiliate member.
The U.S.C.F. website has several brochures and forms, but we've also included a few of them here for convenience.
In order to view .pdf files, you'll need Adobe's free
Acrobat Reader.

Electronic Scoresheets
The MonRoi Personal Chess Manager is the first hand-held device to receive
official certification by the U.S.C.F. as an electronic scoresheet that can be used in a rated
U.S.C.F. event, in lieu of a traditional paper scoresheet. Check out the links below, for more
information.

U.S.C.F. Tournament Administrator Software
This file is in a .zip format and can be extracted using a zip utility such as
Winzip.
We're keeping this download available on the website strictly for historical purposes.
Unfortunately, this is a DOS-based application (from 1992), but it seems to work just
fine on Windows XP (we haven't tested it on Vista), assuming one doesn't mind using DOS
programs in the year 2009. To our knowledge, this is the final version of the U.S.C.F.'s
official tournament software. I doubt that the U.S.C.F. will create a modern Windows-based
version of the Tournament Administrator in the near future, because most TDs are simply
importing the Golden Databases and supplements into third-party pairing programs, such as
SwissSys (Windows), used by the R.C.C.C.,
WinTD (Windows & Mac),
or Vega (Windows & Linux). If you
know of any other chess tournament programs for Linux, Windows, or Mac, please contact the
webmaster. We'd like to test them.
Tournament Administrator
(254 KB) This program is for use with the Golden Database.
To use this ancient thing,
1) download the .zip file to any drive,
2) create a new folder on your C-drive and name it "TNMTADMT" (yes, it must be on
the C-drive),
3) open the .zip file,
4) copy (highlight, drag, & drop) all of the files from the .zip file to the TNMTADMT
folder (C:\TNMTADMT),
5) open the TNMTADMT folder and click on the tarptsys.exe file to open the Tournament
Administrator (you can also create a short cut icon for your desktop).
If you plan to use the Golden Database with the Tournament Administrator,
1) copy the taratsup.dbf file from the Golden Database
.zip file to the TNMTADMT folder,
2) open the Tournament Administrator and choose the Utilities command,
3) choose the Index command and reindex all files.
The database should be ready to use and/or update.
After loading the latest database, I recommend importing every supplement, from that point
forward (as opposed to only the most recent one).
Unfortunately, the database supplements may be imported only from your computer's A-drive or
B-drive, and only to the C-drive.
I tried to find a way around that without rewriting the program, but I don't think it's possible.
For the large supplements, you'll need to use two or more floppy diskettes. -Stef
